SOUTHERN SAFARI ITINERARIES

4 DAYS/ 3 NIGHTS SELOUS GAME RESERVE LODGE SAFARI

Day 1:
Early morning arrival departure at 08.00 am for Selous Game Reserve. This will be a 5- 6 hours drive through villages and beautiful landscape. Arrival in be camp will be late after noon. Packed lunch will be provided. Overnight at Lodge, full board.

Day 2:
Begin your day with a morning walking accompanied by am armed ranger. This will take approximately 3- 4 hours and will be followed by a game drive, returning to camp for lunch. The late afternoon game drives starts from 16.00 – 18.30. Overnight at Lodge, full board.

Day 3:
Morning boat safari followed by a full day game drive. Return to camp/lode in the late evening and overnight at Lodge, full board.

Day 4:
Morning game drive and thereafter depart for Dar es Salaam,Selous boasts of Tanzania's largest population of elephant as well as large numbers of herds of buffalo, hippo, crocodile, wild dog, a variety of 440 species of birds, over 2000 variety of plants, hot volcanic springs, lagoons, the great Rufiji River and the diverse landscape makes Selous Game Reserve a World Heritage site. Other species commonly seen are lion, bushbuck, impala, giraffe, eland, baboon, zebra and greater kudu.

Day 1:
The drive from the Springlands Hotel to Lake Manyara National Park takes about 4 hours. After having a picnic lunch in Manyara, you start a late afternoon game drive, which is the best time to view animals in this park. When you approach it from the east, the Rift Valley escarpment looms on the horizon forming an impressive backdrop to the lake. In the tall trees of the ground water forest, monkeys leap from branch to branch, and on the escarpment, elephants stand in the shade. Other animals frequently seen are zebras, impalas, monkeys, giraffes, buffalos, hippos, and others. Overnight at the Highview Hotel or similar.

Day 2:
After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive inside the crater. This is the best place in Tanzania to see black rhino as well as prides of lion that include the magnificent black-manned males. There are lots of colorful flamingoes and a variety of water birds. Other game that you can see includes leopard, cheetah, hyena, other members of the antelope family, and small mammals. In the late afternoon drive to Highview Hotel or similar for Dinner and overnight.

Day 3:
Morning boat safari followed by a full day game drive. Return to camp/lode in the late evening and overnight at Lodge, full board.

Day 4:

Day 1:
Depart from Dar es Salaam at 08.00 for Udzungwa National Park. Arrival time will be in time late afternoon/early evening. A short walk in the park and overnight at Twiga Motel , full board.

Day 2:
After breakfast take a walking in the park and thereafter go for up the Sanje waterfalls for a refreshing swim and stunning views. Overnight at Twiga Motel , full board. Udzungwa National Park opened to the public 1992 and one of the most beautiful wilderness areas in Tanzania. Covering an area of 1900 sq km., the uniqueness of this park lies in its biodiversity in hosting a variety of animals and plant species not found anywhere else in the world. The red Colobus and the Sane crested manbrey, elephants, buffalos, leopards, and sable antelopes are some of the residents in this park. A good range of birdlife is present which includes Rufus winged sunbird, Iringa akalat, Lagden’s bush shrike and Udzungwa partridge.

Day 3:
Depart in the morning after breakfast for Ruaha National Park. The drive to Ruaha is a truly fascinating one which gives you the real feel of the African countryside. The journey will see you pass sisal plantations, local villages before climbing the Great Rift Escarpment passing through Iringa Town and finally arriving to your Lodge. Arrival time will be late afternoon and overnight at Ruaha Hilltop Lodge, for the night, full board.

Day 4:
Today you will enter the Ruaha National Park in search of game life. Leaving the lodge immediately after breakfast, we arrive at the parks’ gate in search of the elusive wild dogs, herds of elephants and buffaloes. After a picnic lunch, continue with late afternoon/evening game drive before departing for the lodge for overnight at Ruaha Hilltop Lodge, full board.
